I put the plates down in front of Matt, and Erik, and the smiles on their faces are payment enough. I give them a little giggle, and they start digging into breakfast. Sitting down at the table, I drink my coffee while they eat.
“Why exactly aren’t you eating?” Matt frowns.
“Because I ate while I was busy cooking, and now, I’m not hungry anymore.” I had already told him. I felt kind of queasy which I didn’t want to tell him because then the day would be ruined because they would insist on taking me to Dr. M. With banishing Nightmare, it could mean anything at this point and I am not planning on spending any time in the hospital!
“That’s no excuse. You know that is not enough to feed Nightmare.” Matt doesn’t look happy. Erik stops chewing and looks up at me.
