CHAPTER 4

Olima paused at the dining room and turned to face her stepmother. She replied, "No, Ma. I checked the kitchen, and there's no food stuff left." Mia frowned as she was hungry, and she questioned, "Why didn't you speak since?" Olima stared from Mia to Gina in shock. She had helped Mia to do her assignments, and Mia was all nice and acting friendly with her. But once Gina arrived home, and Mia saw that her mother had returned, she would switch to her mother's toxic behavior. "Hmm, and you sat here since with Mia and watched the television. Didn't you know that you would've come to my shop to ask me for money to refill the house with foodstuffs and the things that you will need in preparing our dinners for tonight, or did you expect us to starve with you this night?" Gina questioned with a cold glare, and Olima replied, "No, Mother, I mean ma..." Gina opened her purse and brought out some bundles of notes of money; she counted them and said, "Here's 10,000. Before I should go upstairs to my room and be through with my bath and come downstairs, make sure that you've gone to the market nearby and buy all the ingredients that you will use in preparing the vegetable soup with semovita. Or else!..." Gina's eyes burned coals at Olima. She dropped the money on the center table and took the stairs as she went back upstairs to her bedroom. Olima quickly rushed into the kitchen as she knew that her stepmother wasn't joking. She searched all the kitchen containers to know the actual ingredients that she would buy in preparing the vegetable soup. She hurriedly rushed out of the kitchen as she picked up the money from the center table and left the house, hearing Mia's subtle laughing at her as she rushed out of the house like someone who was being chased. Nathan stood up quickly as he saw Olima rush out to the gate. She was holding a black polyethylene bag to her chest, as she was dressed in a light blue gown. Nathan quickly asked her, "Where are you rushing to, small madam?" "Open the gates!" Olima screamed, and Nathan knew that she was sent on an errand again. It was how Olima usually ran out of the house. Nathan quickly opened the gate, and Olima dashed out of the yard like a mad woman. She was almost knocked down by a red car that was driving out to exit the estate street. The red car driver cussed at her, "Stupid lady! Where are you rushing to like that?" Olima ignored the expensive red car driver who was cussing at her as she rushed out to the beautiful estate street and continued running up to the estate gate to go to the market. ---- Inside the flashy red car sat a young, handsome Black man whose billionaire parents wanted him to take over their multimillion-dollar empire and real estate businesses, as his father was known for selling houses to top-notch billionaires in their town. Justin Roberts. He is a dark-skinned handsome guy and twenty-one years of age. His heart flew to his lungs as he saw his car almost hit the silly lady that ran out of her parents' home, as he knew that mostly the billionaires' families lived in the estate. With the sun gradually going down in the west, his car drove past her and was heading to one of his finest hangout places, the Clubhouse. Justin disliked business topics and didn't seem to find anything about business interesting, except for drawings, watching movies in his room, and hanging out with pretty, hot ladies that were ready to get down in bed with him and pleasure him as hot as he wanted. Justin felt his dîck harden as he saw how pretty the pretty young lady looked. She was running carelessly, not minding how her big boobs and buttọcks were bouncing up and down with her fast running. Unable to see all those goodies, and look away as Jesse drove past her. Justin ordered, "Stop the car." "Boss..." Jesse was taken by surprise at his young master's order. He gulped and replied, "Okay, boss." Justin was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, black trousers, and polished black shoes. He was breathtakingly handsome, taking care of his looks and knowing that first impression matters. Olima continued running upward to exit the estate gate, as the night was approaching fast. She knew that her stepmother would punish her if she didn't return back home early to prepare their dinner on time. "Boss, do you need anything?" the thirty-year-old impatient Jesse Andrews asked, as he wore a white shirt and black trousers too. "No, wait here," Justin replied, as he was nervous and seeing the pretty young lady was running up to his car and exiting the estate gate as well. Justin was mostly used to ladies throwing themselves on him, and now he had to throw himself to the pretty young lady that he was seeing again. He had seen her before countless times, and he couldn't approach her, knowing that her father would be a billionaire. Olima didn't have the time to go upstairs to change her light blue gown, as it provocatively brought out her shape. She ran up slowly after she saw that the red car from earlier, whose driver had previously cussed her, stopped, and the side door opened. Olima thought the driver or the passenger in the red car wanted to step down and scold her for her silly action of running out into the estate street like a mad woman and not even staring ahead if any car was coming up. "Hi," the dark-skinned handsome young man that stepped down from the red sports car spoke to her. Olima froze in her spot as she stared at the tall man's face standing in front of her. "No... please, excuse me." Olima shook her head as she met Justin's desirous gaze on her. Before he could speak—"Wait"—Olima quickly ran past him like a deer, running faster than before and towards the exit gate of the residential estate street. "Damn it!!" Justin cursed. Jesse smiled in the car after seeing Olima's reaction through the open window. Justin frustratingly sat back into the rear seat of the car, and he ordered Jesse, "Start the car." "Alright, boss," Jesse replied, and he waited for Justin to fasten his seatbelt properly before he ignited the car engine and drove off. ----- Olima's heart was still beating faster in her chest, as she had already exited the estate gate and got into a taxi. Olima breathed out in relief, wondering what the handsome young man wanted from her, as she didn't know him before. Furthermore, Olima calculated all the soup ingredients that she would buy from the local market nearby, as she knew that the main market would have closed. But she could still get some foodstuffs from some of the local foodstuff sellers that were selling along the road. Arriving at the market area, Olima paid for her taxi fee and rushed towards one of the market sellers by the roadside. She bought all the vegetable ingredients that she needed in preparing the delicious vegetable soup. Olima had only learned how to cook five months ago. She wasn't so good at cooking, but it was still manageable. She didn't use to cook when her mother was still alive. Having to learn all that now that her mother was gone, Olima felt a pang of guilt and paid for all the items and vegetables that she had bought. Before she could round up with all her purchases from the road sellers, the night had fallen. Olima frowned, knowing that her stepmother would complain. She had forgotten to ask her stepmother for money in the morning, with her begging for her university exam. In the afternoon, Olima was busy with helping Mia to do her school assignments. She forgot to go to her stepmother's shop, where Gina sells feminine wear, as she owned a boutique. Olima stood beside the road, waiting for a taxi to arrive. Still, there was no cab available to take her home as the night fell.
