Chapter 15- The Proposal

" Is that man bothering you?" Eddy asked as we drove home.
" That would be the opposite," I said with a chuckle.
" What do you mean?" He asked as he turned to look at me before turning his eyes back on the road,
" Well, I did some things in the office I usually wouldn't do, they were a little childish but I just had to give him a piece of his own medicine, he asked for it when he refused to send me to another company,"
" Is that all that happened today?" He asked, I was about to say 'nothing else' when I remembered that Mr. Vincenzo said I had to travel with him for a business meeting.
" Uhm, there's something else," I said,
" Don't tell me he tried to touch you?"
" No Eddy, he'd be in the ER by now,"
" So what happened?"
" The thing is he said I have to travel with him for a business meeting," As I said that I immediately had to brace myself as the car made a screeching sound before coming to a stop.
" Eddy! Easy, do you want to get us killed?" I asked and instead of answering me he started the car and turned the wheel around.
" What are you doing? Why are you turning back?" I asked but he only fired faster.
" Answer me, Eddy!" I shouted as he held the brakes and the car came to a stop again.
" What's wrong, why are you acting this way?"
" Are you really asking me that Katie? Don't you see it?! Don't you see what he's trying to do? He's just trying to manipulate you, haven't you asked yourself why of all places in Italy you had to end up in his f*****g company? He f*****g wants you back!" I was never his, I had never been his, it was just s*x.
" But I want you!"
" How long are you going to keep saying that?" He asked, sounding frustrated. Why was he bringing this up again? Did he think I would leave him at any opportunity I get?
" Why are you doing this again, Eddy? I've told you I'd always pick you,"
" I know what you said, but ever since you told me you'd be working with him I feel like I'm going to lose you, I feel f*****g scared that you'd wake up and realize that maybe he was the better option, I…fuck!" He cursed as he started the car and turned around again driving home.
The ride back home was tense and filled with a lot of unanswered questions. There were a lot of things I wanted to tell Eddy but I couldn't bring myself to speak, he looked very furious. I could see it in the way he kept clenching his hand on the steering wheel tightly.
When we reached home, he got out of the car and walked around to my door, and opened it helping me out as we silently walked into the house.
He was about to walk upstairs when I stopped him.
" Eddy please, wait, we need to talk," I said as I held his hand and then I walked to stand in front of him.
" I don't want us to fight please babe, I understand why you would get angry but your worry is for nothing, we belong together, just you and me Eddy, no man has ever treated me like you treat me, with so much love and respect, you're different, and I…I don't even know the right words to describe you, I just hate that you allow him to get to you, I don't want us fighting,"
I moved closer to him and I wrapped my arms around him, he didn't return my hug and I knew he was really mad, I was about to pull away when his arms wrapped tightly around me refusing to let me go.
" I'm just scared, I'm scared of losing you to him, he has you trapped in the name of doing your internship in his company, I just feel like he has a hand in everything, why did your school send you there, and all?" He said with a sigh.
" He could try all he wants but at the end of the day I belong to you, only you," I said as I laid a kiss on his chest.
" It drives me so f*****g crazy, so f*****g crazy to see him anywhere near you,"
" I'm in your arms right now am I not?" I asked as I looked into his charming green eyes. There were so many emotions swimming in his eyes as he looked at me and it made my toes curl. I could never get tired of staring into his eyes.
" I want that forever, I want you in my arms forever, marry me Katie, marry me,"
