Lyra I slowly opened my eyes, and a sharp pain shot through my body, making me wince. I tried to move, but a stinging ache in my arms and legs made me gasp. Everything was dead quiet, and the darkness felt like it was closing in on me. Groggily, I tried to recall where I was and what had gone down.
