Tears filled my eyes as Thorian, Soren, and Vaelin shared what they had discovered. I listened closely, my heart beating fast, while they explained the possibility that I had never really been part of the Obsidian Pack.
At first, a wave of relief came over me. I wasn’t one of them. I didn’t belong to the pack that had made my life miserable for so long.
But as the truth settled in, that relief quickly turned into heartbreak. My own biological parents had abandoned me. They had handed me over to the pack and left me to suffer at their hands.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I tried to process everything I had just learned. It felt like my entire identity had been flipped upside down.
"Why?" I whispered, my voice breaking. "Why did they leave me?"
