IT WAS the first time Minah would join Asher’s entire family for a meal again. His father, mother, and two siblings were present.
A part of Minah secretly envied Asher—he was lucky to have both his parents with him.
“You’re really staying here for good, Minah?” Noah asked, still sounding incredulous.
“She is,” Asher answered before Minah could, causing Noah to shift his gaze to him.
“Big brother, I wasn’t asking you.”
“But that’s exactly what Minah would tell you,” Asher replied.
Minah cleared her throat to redirect Noah’s attention, hoping to prevent the two brothers from arguing in the middle of a meal.
“I’ll be staying here for now,” Minah said to Noah.
“For now?” Noah echoed, latching onto her choice of words.
