AS MINAH approached her and Asher’s room, a strange nervousness settled in her chest. She was sure he was already there, resting. She had deliberately taken her time going upstairs to their room. Asher had seen her chatting with Paul and Mommy Anne earlier, so he had gone ahead. She just hoped he was already asleep. Carefully, she opened the door to their room.
