WHEN ASHER arrived home from work that afternoon, Minah made it a point to wait for him in the foyer. She even shooed Paul away to the lanai so she wouldn’t get distracted from what she wanted to do. She knew he’d tease her if he stayed. It might have been a crazy idea, but she couldn’t stop herself from trying to lock eyes with Asher as soon as they saw each other again after his day at work.
