The next morning, I sat in my office, going through some documents, but my mind wasn’t focused on work. My thoughts kept drifting to my conversation with Alpha Maximus the previous day. Would Annalisa agree to meet me?
The answer came sooner than expected.
My phone buzzed on my desk, and when I looked at the screen, Alpha Maximus’s name appeared. I quickly picked up the call.
“This is Kieran,” I answered.
“Alpha Kieran,” his deep voice came through the line. “I have spoken to my daughter.”
