Xavier pushed open the door to the elder’s court, where Robb sat deliberating with the council of alphas. He didn’t know what they talked about, and he didn’t care. His eyes were still blurry from having cried so much. He had wiped his face because he knew the tears wouldn’t bring his mother, the now-late queen, back. If they could, she wouldn’t have died. The anger that coursed through his veins wouldn’t bring her back either, but at least it was for good measure.
