REMI I slipped into the provided clothes and made myself as presentable as possible in the five short minutes they gave me. When the door opened again, Hamilton stood there expectantly. I could feel Pip’s curiosity as she scooped Cerys into her arms. “Why don’t you two just take a nap?” I said, forcing positivity into my voice. “I won’t be too long. Then we can play a game together.” Pip just nodded, but Cerys looked at me with teary eyes. I didn’t want to leave her. There wasn’t much of a choice, though. She was as safe as I could make her with Pip. “Let’s go,” Hamilton said sternly. I looked down at my bare feet, then back up to him. I wasn’t sure why I was given a clean outfit and no shoes. “They’ll be safe. No one will disturb them while you’re gone,” Hamilton silently assured
