I barely stepped back inside when I heard her voice.

I didn’t answer.
“Liam!” Claire’s tone snapped like a whip. “Where were you? You can't walk away from me like that.”
I turned slowly. She was standing in the hallway, arms crossed, lips tight, her eyes already full of fire.
