"...the pain is my only reminder he was real...that you all were real."- Bella Swan, New Moon.
While Amaya thoroughly enjoyed her time in Greece she was happy to be home. Which shocked her since she considered the dismal little town of Sombre home. But then she realized the moment she and Cole fell out besides in bed, and both began smiling like loons, that it was him.
Cole was home.
She would travel the world or dimensions in a heartbeat if she knew she could do it with her mate.
The man she loved.
Amaya and Cole rested up and after sleeping for a while, hit the road.
He and Ambrose went to the pit to talk to the manager about any suspicious activity while Amaya went to check on Lucy and Sophia.
When she got to their shop though, she was instantly pissed. A man, strong in build, reeking of alcohol was grabbing on Lucy. He kept demanding cash from her when he suddenly fell to his knees in agonizing pain. Amaya stepped forward and grabbed her pale friend from him.
"Who is this prick?" Lucy panted as she glared down at the drunk man, "This is Sophia's...sperm donor." The man spat at Lucy's feet, "I'd be a better father to the little weirdo if you let me see her." Lucy scoffed, "Yeah? So you can poison her against herself? Tell her how horrible a person she is for being a witch? I don't think so Johnny."
Johnny's jaw clenched, "My baby had no business turning out like you! She would have been perfect if you hadn't made her so damn-."
Amaya glared down at the man in hate, "Powerful. From Lucy, your daughter has the power to bring pathetic men like you to their knees. And that's what really scares you," Amaya deduced as she waved her hand, the shop repairing itself from the man's rage, "You know she'll never fear you and if you do one idiotic thing she could kill you. It's pathetic really."
Johnny scowled as Amaya chuckled down at him amused, "A man so afraid of a woman with power that he banished his own daughter from his life."
Amaya suddenly had Johnny on his feet and he grunted as the powerful woman commanded him to do as she told him, "You will go, and you will never show your sorry ass face again. For if you do I will send you to hell, where you will rot for the rest of your miserable life."
Johnny headed the woman's command and ran out of the shop.
Lucy sagged onto a bench as Amaya quickly made her a calming jasmine tea. When Lucy calmed down she whispered, "I'm happy Sophia was in school. She hates when her father comes around."
Amaya sat with Lucy in the back of the shop smoking a joint. "What did he want? Well, besides for you to give him money."
Lucy took a hit before she admitted, "That's it. I mean at first he tries to play it off like he's here to see her, but then he's badgering me about something going wrong in his life. Needing me to do something or give him something."
Amaya accepted the joint as she asked, "And his relationship with her? You said he "poisons her against herself"?" Lucy shook her head, a bitter smile curling her lip, "When Johnny found out I was a witch he was disgusted with it. Refused to let me bring it anywhere near him or his family. When he found out I was pregnant he tried to tell me I couldn't let Sophia grow up a witch. I even denounced my coven for him."
Lucy rolled her eyes, "It wasn't enough. He wanted me to renounce my power, live like a mortal and be a mortal with him. I refused and so he left. When he came by to see Sophia over the years I saw the change in her gradually. She went to this happy and loving kid to someone who was scared to meet anyone's eyes."
Lucy's jaw ticked in anger, "He had been telling her she'll go to hell for practicing. That just because I did it, didn't mean she had to follow. Johnny made our daughter hate herself until I took her away from him."
Amaya puffed the joint before passing it and asked, "Do you know she's been getting bullied now?" Lucy nodded, "I do. I try to talk to her about it, but she's very tight-lipped. She'd rather deal with it than tell me who they are."
Turning to Amaya Lucy admitted, "Your influence though has been surprisingly good for her." Amaya looked up shocked as Lucy grinned, "Sophia's becoming a lot bolder. She's always been feisty but now she's got claws and she wants to fight back."
Amaya grinned and admitted, " I care for her. Which is why I sent him away." Lucy faced Amaya shook her head, "Anyone incapable of seeing such a sweet girl for who she is, doesn't deserve a minute of her time."
Lucy smiled widely and both looked up feeling Sophia's presence approaching. Walking to the front both smiled when Sophia lit up seeing her friend was back. "Yes! You're back!" She hugged Amaya who giggled and teased, "I am and guess who got souvenirs!" Sophia gasped in shock, "No way! You brought me something?"
Amaya held up a bag and Sophia almost brought the shop down in excitement. "So in Greece, there's this boss little shop I love and you can get the coolest things. Check it out."
Amaya watched Sophia eagerly tear through the bag. She had started with the basic books, teen witch girl must know hexes, and of course, then she moved on to the fun things. Black candles, mood changing nail polish, shoes, cool leather pants, a steel ouija black skull board piece, tarot cards, and a configuration puzzle.
Sophia hugged Amaya happily and gushed, "Dude I can't wait to go places like this! You can take me to all the cool places when I'm older!" Amaya nodded and then realized...if she jumped through to the dimension to join Cole, wouldn't she have to leave her friend behind?
Amaya pushed the upsetting thought to the back of my mind and looked at Lucy as she discreetly slid another bag to her, "Bath bombs, bath oils, and rubbing creams. All excellent for stress." Lucy gratefully took the things from her and smiled, "Thank you for this Amaya."
Amaya grinned widely and both women focused their attention on the little girl rambling about her future.
