"I'm 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bones. Sarcasm is my only defense."- Stiles Stilinski, Teen Wolf.  Cole can remember every moment of his life. From the time he took his first breath to the time, he met Amaya. And he swore it hadn't felt like he had been breathing until her. Cole hadn't felt true happiness since his creation took place. But in the light of having a mate, Cole could honestly say he felt it.  Amaya was still a little apprehensive, but Cole could see her walls coming down. Slowly, hesitantly, but damn sure coming down.  They spent the majority of the day wrapped up in each other, enjoying each other's company.  He had never been one to thrive off the companionship of another person, but Amaya just being in his vicinity made for a more content Cole.  Amaya took accepting Cole as fast as she could, she knew how she felt. Had she come to terms with the deep emotionally exhausting newfound feelings? No.  No, she hadn't.  But taking them in slowly but surely seemed to beat running from them.  Amaya sat back enjoying each new experience Cole pulled from her along with the new emotions.  One day while he was out with a friend she stopped by the shop in town and was greeted by, Sophia. The little witch ran up to her and greeted her enthusiastically.  "Hey, little red." Sophia smiled and asked, "Hey, did you need anything?" Amaya didn't, but for someone who was almost twenty-two, she could only name one person she considered a friend.  A thirteen-year-old smart mouth little girl.  "No, I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out." Sophia perked up and nodded, "Yeah!" Amaya looked up when Lucy appeared and slowly asked, "Would you mind Lucy if I took her out for a milkshake?"  Lucy hesitated, she, of course, had inquired to other witches about Amaya. The blood witch.  She had at first been scared to have the demon spirited witch in her town. Around her daughter... But from the way Amaya acted around her sweet girl, Lucy didn't think she had any ill intentions towards them. Which had her saying... "No of course not, have fun." She told her daughter after a moment. Watching them go, Lucy smiled seeing her daughter so happy.  They had moved from Kentucky from the insistent bullying and ridicule her daughter was the victim of. Her power making the mortal teenage girls so nervous and envious of her that they lashed out in the cruelest of ways.  She had hoped this friendship would transpire happiness in not only her daughter, but her new friend as well... "Ugh I hate peanut butter," Amaya said scrunching up her nose at the milkshake Sophia had gotten. Sophia rolled her eyes amused before insisting, "It's good!" Amaya actually giggled and Sophia sighed enviously, "You're so pretty. I wish I looked more like you." Amaya shook her head amused, "Oh please, your hair is to die for. Redheads are the hottest commodity darling."  Sophia snorted, "Yeah right, tell that to boys. They think about girls like you, not me." Amaya shook her head, "Everyone thinks that, but I can assure you it's girls like you that makes boy's hearts explode. So sweet and pretty, you're going to break hearts when you get older."  Sophia blushed and then suddenly a little group of teenage girls walked in. They glanced at the two of them snickering and whispering making Sophia drop her head in embarrassment. Amaya frowned and whispered, "Hey if you're scared to be seen with an old lady, I'm positive my ego will survive. You can go hang with your friends."  Shaking her head, Sophia played with her milkshakes whipped cream as she mumbled, "They are not my friends. They don't like me. They think I'm weird."  Amaya giggled, "You're a witch, Soph. Of course, they're afraid of you. Once you get more trained you'll see the magic in you will settle. Right now it's coming off in an energy that will scare the heck out of a mortal. It's like a sense of danger they can't understand, so they act like little shits."  Looking at the pale, too skinny, and fast dressed young girls Amaya sighed, "Though I honestly wouldn't want you hanging out with girls like them." Sophia looked at Amaya confused, "Why not? They're the most popular girls in my grade."  Amaya snorted not at all surprised, "Yeah and they're all copies of some unoriginal stereotype. Sophia, you're original in being yourself, a funny badass little redhead. Not to mention," Both looked as the girls took duck face selfies and tried to flirt with their waiter, "You're highly intelligent and I'd be more worried you'd lose brain cells hanging with those girls."  Making a noise of disgust as the seventeen-year-old boy actually began to flirt back,  Amaya commented, "And they're all too grown for their ages."  Sophia blushed, "Aren't I?" Amaya giggled, "In a mature way. Not in a need of getting an ass beating kind of way."  Sophia and Amaya both laughed.  Toasting their milkshakes, both were talking clothes, music, movies when someone cackled. "Gah she's such a weirdo. Who's she sitting with? It can't be a friend, she's too ugly for them!" Looking to see it was the supposed it ring leader of the group, Amaya looked at her downfallen friend.  "Have you started spells yet?" Sophia slowly nodded, "Yeah but nothing major, just plant growth and boring things like that."  Amaya smirked, "Okay promise you won't tell your mom?" Holding up her pinkie, she grinned when Sophia linked hers. Holding hands Amaya whispered to her, "Glace, solidatur. Glace, solidatur..."  Both nodded and began chanting. Watching the girl's milkshake glasses frost over, both concentrated and the milkshake glasses exploded sending the milkshakes flying. The nasty group of girls wailed in embarrassment as their hair and clothes got drenched.  Sophia and Amaya laughed as the girls quickly ran out. High fiving both looked at their waitress when she approached with a small smile, "Another round girls?" Both agreed and sat back smiling widely.  "This is fun," Sophia commented once they got their refills. "Smiting the little snot gobblers from your school?" Sophia shook her head, "No, just having someone to talk to. Hang out with, I didn't get to do that a lot. My mom renounced any ties to a coven so I never really had a friend like us before. It's fun."  Amaya rubbed Sophia's hand, "I was in a coven. But you know I had...issues. I couldn't stay and even if I did, I wouldn't have been welcomed. I don't think I had a friend before you either red." Sophia smiled widely in happiness. When they were done drinking their weight in milkshakes, Amaya started to walk Sophia back to her mom's shop.  On the corner of the street, Amaya jumped when a fire message appeared in front of her. Not recognizing the stamp she looked at the confused Sophia, "I have no clue." She admitted just as at a lost.  Opening the later, Amaya's eyes widened as she read.  "What is it?" Sophia asked her friend concerned. Amaya looked at Sophia and casually said, "Um...something I gotta handle. Come on let's get you back to your mom." Amaya took Sophia back to Lucy who also noticed the pale tint around Amaya's face and asked what was wrong. But Amaya didn't answer because she couldn't believe what she had read.  Dear Amaya,  I do understand you are my son's mate, I wish for us to meet.  Face to face.  I will be opening a portal tomorrow at the rise of the full moon.  I look forward to meeting you,  Carlisle Sphynx,  Amaya had at first been confused about who this Carlisle Sphynx was, but then she realized where she has heard the name.  It was Cole's father.
