The birthday surprise brought me a sensitive memory of my mom. Both of us used to secretly celebrate it together with a small cake and a simple dinner with my favorite dish. Father was never there with us to celebrate our birthdays. So seeing the surprise prepared just for me made me emotional. I cried after walking out to the balcony and Gabriel’s warm hugs made me slowly calm down. I was not familiar with his warmth and my heart secretly screamed out for his warm touch. Then, when he gave me the envelope with the enrollment documents, I realized that there was no way I could show my gratitude to him.
