Nicholas POV
“Mum, this is not making sense. How do you expect me to stay with a girl alone?” I snapped at her, my voice rising. She sat on the bed like everything she was saying was perfectly reasonable.
“Nicholas, this trip is very important to us. And her mother doesn’t want to leave her alone with her brother. Since you’re still at home, you two can stay together. It’s just a two-week trip. We’ll be back before you notice.”
I groaned, my jaw tight. “How can she not want to leave her with her own brother? They’re siblings.”
