Clarence canceled the dinner with Mike and arranged an immediate meeting with Drake. She can't let her only son date anybody. Everything else could wait. "Mom! What was the urgency?" Drake rushed inside his mother's cabin at their home. He took a deep breath of relief when he saw her healthy. But then, another evil thought crossed his mind. "Is dad okay?" "Yes. It isn't about us." Clarence switched off her computer, rising to her feet. She took close steps towards Drake, smiling as brightly as she could. On the inside, she was fuming with rage. But her eyes were blank, unhappy, making Drake suspicious. "Is something troubling you, mom?" He probed. "Why? Everything is fine, dear." Clarence swallowed hard, feeling a little nervous. "You look exhausted. You have a bag under your eyes."
