I was awake even before I heard the door squeak open. I kept my eyes shut as I heard whispering and somebody shushing someone else.
There was mumbling, and then a chorus of, "Happy Father's day!"
I peeked my eyes open and smiled as I saw my three children. Jessie was carrying Sophia, who was still a toddler. Thomas held a small round cake.
"Good morning." I chuckled as I felt the body next to me stir. I glanced towards my husband who was rubbing his eyes, smiling at them. "Hey, what's all this?" He asked with his morning voice.
"Happy Father's Day, papa!" Jessie walked towards me, planting a kiss on my cheek as she placed a laughing Sophia between Luke and I. "Happy Father's Day, dad!" She kissed Luke's cheek as well.
