As soon as I'm showered, I head downstairs to grab something for breakfast. I'm on Briar duty today. It's actually my favorite duty because I get to hang out with my sister all day. Dennis has Derek duty. Although I love my brother-in-law, it's boring as f**k. It's meeting after meeting where Briar gets to hang out with kids. The smell of bacon wafts through the air as I step into the kitchen, making my mouth water. "He lives," Dennis says, like the smart a** he is.
I give him the one-finger salute as I make my way over to the coffee machine. I pour myself a mug before grabbing the plate Dennis made for me. I sit down digging in as he sits across from me. "I didn't hear you come in last night. I assume you were drunk and drained" he says. "No, on both accounts, smart***. Sh*t
