I tried to get out of the cave, but I was blocked by an invisible force, one that made my growing fear even worse.
“Marco what…what is this? What is the meaning of this?” I narrowed my eyes, a part of me already aware of what this was, but hoping to the heavens that I was mistaken.
Surely this was some kind of prank, right?
An annoying joke that he thought would be funny but clearly wasn’t?
“Marco…” I trailed off, noticing how he watched me with an odd expression—a dark glint in his eyes that I hadn’t seen before.
My stomach churned dreadfully.
“Yes, Katherina?” He replied smoothly, his voice unsettling as he took a step closer to the cave entrance, his gaze intense, almost mocking.
