KATE I ran through the dark woods in fear, my heart beating very fast at the lack of physical activity I had been getting in the past few months. Someone was after me. I didn’t know who it was, but I could already smell their intent. They wanted me and my baby dead. I stumbled through the woods in dread, twigs, and branches slapping at my face, at my body as I whizzed past. Where was Aemma? And why wasn’t she coming to our rescue when we needed her the most? I slipped on some wet grass, a silent cry of horror escaping my lips as I fell, but luckily, my reflexes kicked in, and fast too, for I managed to turn just in time, landing on my butt instead of my stomach as I would have, but that tiny mistake was just enough to make my pursuers catch up with me.
