THE morning light streamed in through the window, illuminating the room with a soft glow. I lay in bed, my thoughts consumed by Asmodeus and his offer. He wanted us to try again to start over without the constraints of a contract. It was a tempting offer, but I couldn't help but feel hesitant.
What if things went wrong again? What if he hurt me like he did before? Could I really trust him again?
I sighed and rolled over onto my side, staring at the empty space next to me. The thought of being with Asmodeus again was both exciting and terrifying. We had shared so much in the past, but our relationship had ended in heartbreak and pain.
