"Have you received any updates from Grady? How could someone hit the kids and just take off like that?" I don't say anything. I just shake my head. "I feel like things are being hidden from me by the way the cops look at me when I go and try to see if they have any new information. I can't be the only one who is confused about how there was an accident on that road," Dion tells me. I feel for him. I really do. I am sure he isn't lying when he says he is being looked at a certain way, but if a Carlton is involved, expect whatever it is to get swept under the rug. They pay people off. Their name will never negatively be promoted negatively. They make sure of that.
"I'm sure it's not that. It's all just a process. Once they have new information, they will get in contact with you. I gave Grady the word, and he knows to contact us with any new information as well, so regardless, you will know whatever I know," I tell him, but I have a feeling I am also being kept in the dark in some ways. Grady is an honest man though, and if I know anything, it is that at least he can not be bought, so I have hope that the truth of what happened will come out.
We sit here and allow them to choose everything for Ashlynn's funeral. They pick everything in purple, as it was her favorite color. Even her casket is going to be professionally painted with her name in purple. Natalia places the order for everything. "I hope Adriana wakes up soon. I want to go through Ash's things, but would like for her to help me. They were like sisters. It's only right," Alice breaks down again. "I'm so sorry, Alice. This should never have happened," Natalia hugs her and tries to comfort her. "I wouldn't wish this h3ll on anyone. Hug your kiddos tight. I will keep praying that Adri wakes up soon." I nod. We tell them we will keep in touch and will check in tomorrow, and we head back to the hospital.

"We are injecting her, and will be waking her up," I hear a deep voice say. I am too tired to open my eyes to investigate though, so I continue resting. "Should we contact her family now? Her parents are very involved, and want updates on every single little thing that we do to her," a woman says. "No, let's get her up and awake first," the male voice says.
"Adriana, it's time to wake up," All of a sudden, I feel a burst of wind on my face and I open my eyes. "There she is," I hear the man's voice say. I try to look at him, but it's so bright. I close my eyes and try to open them again, but I end up closing them.
"Stay calm. We are removing this breathing tube from your throat. Do not move, or I could hurt you," a woman says. I stay still, and keep my eyes closed, because I do not want to see this.
"You might feel some soreness and discomfort for a couple of days," the woman tells me once she is finished. They help me sit in a comfortable position. "Hi. My name is Dr. Flanigan," a familiar face enters the room "and this is Dr. Escobar," I try to smile. I know Dr. Escobar. She has been seeing me since I was a child.
"No introduction needed, Flanigan. I have known Ace her whole life. Now, move it," she begins checking my vitals. "Do you remember what happened?" I nod. "It was a nasty hit. Glad to have you back. I will call your family. Your cousins stepped out to get something to eat and your parents said they would be back soon," she tells me before she takes her gloves off and begins washing her hands. "I will continue running the tests and asking her questions," Dr. Flanigan tells both her and me.
He asks me simple yes or no questions, because he doesn't want me to over exert myself. "I am waiting for your most recent brain scan results, and let me grab some blood," he draws a couple of tubes of blood. "I will return with those results soon. Please do not get up. If you need anything, push the nurse's button, and we will help you. You will probably be dizzy and won't be able to get up or walk without help, so just be patient." He gives me a smile and walks out of the room. If I wasn't so exhausted, I would fan my face, which I am sure is beet red.
Dr. Flanigan is smoking hot.
"Adriana," my cousin, Natasha rushes me and jumps on the bed. "You're awake," she shrieks. My other cousins rush inside, and it gets too loud. My ears and head begin hurting, but I welcome their love. I love my family so much.
"Ace, you're awake," my parents hurry inside and rush to me. My dad hugs me and asks me so many questions. "Let her wake up completely before bombarding her with questions, honey," mom tells dad. I smile weakly. I am so happy to see my family. I look around, but don't see my brothers. Ryan. Oh my goodness
"Ashlynn," I say, and by the face my dad makes, I know something bad happened. "Guys, can you guys step outside so I can speak to my daughter?" my stomach sinks. I know what I saw, and I don't think it was a dream.
"How are you feeling, princess?" dad asks me. "pain," is all I can say. "Your body is in pain?" he asks. "Head," my head is what hurts. It hurts badly. I have never felt pain like this. "The car that hit you guys hit the side that you and Ashlynn were on. He hit her completely. You were laying down and asleep in the back, but your head was still impacted. Dr. Escobar said you will have headaches for a while. She will be coming to explain everything to us," dad tells me.
"Ash," I barely get her name out. "Princess, Ashlynn died on impact. The car that hit you guys crushed her. I know you were asleep, but do you remember anything? They questioned Charles Jr, but he just said a car came out of nowhere, but that's hard to believe when there are street signs everywhere. How did that man slam into you guys on that road? It's a big lit-up road, and the way the car was found crushed from the front. It just doesn't make any sense," Dad tells me. "Jr lied," a car did not come out of nowhere. Jr took a red light. He had no patience and was doing whatever he wanted on the road, but I am determined to speak the truth. He got Ashlynn killed by his wreckless decisions. He must be reported to the police.
"I told him not to drive drunk," I manage to get the words out. Mom gasps and her eyes widen, but I feel tired again, and my eyes begin closing. "Rest princess. I will be here when you wake up," I try to nod, but my head feel heavy. "Does Ryan know?" I ask before sleep takes over.
