Larissa was surprised when the driver took her to Bruce’s house. She thought… “The house keeper will open the door for you,” he said in a dismissive tone. Right, Larissa thought. This was so embarrassing. She wanted to apologise to him again for being taken down by a woman half his side, but she bit her tongue. He didn’t appreciate her apology the first time. She got out of the car and walked to the front door. She knocked and as woman dressed in a uniform, Larissa assumed to be the housekeeper opened the door. “Ms Larissa,” she said with a welcoming smile. Larissa stared at her not sure how to react. Bruce didn’t tell her anything. “This way please.” She moved away from the door and ushered her inside. She walked towards the stairs. And Larissa stopped walking. She didn’t know what was happening. The housekeeper turned towards her. “Mr. Tak told me you might need to refresh yourself.” Oh yes, Larissa thought remembering her ripped dress. She needed to do something about that. She followed the housekeeper up the stairs, and walked into the room that she indicated. “I’ve set out something on the bed for you to wear,” she said. “Thank you,” Larissa said slightly embarrassed about the whole thing. The housekeeper left her alone, closing the door silently behind her. Larissa sighed. She walked to the bed, and picked up the sweat pants and top. She didn’t even want to think about who the stuff belonged to. She walked to the en suit bathroom and got cleaned up. She took off the dressed and put on the sweat pants and top. They had that new clothes smell.  Larissa frowned a little staring at the clothes. He probably had a new pair for women when they came to his house. It was good to be prepared, she thought sarcastically. She sighed as she sat on the bed. She pulled out her phone and checked the time. It was late in the evening, but not late enough for someone who frequented the clubs to be back yet. Larrissa groaned as she thought about what happened at that club. She really knew how to make a fool out of herself. Well, at least she got his attention though, even though he was making her wait. She didn’t even know what he was thinking. And that lie he told that Harry guy at the club. He said she was his wife to be, because… I have something on him? Larissa frowned confused. She didn’t understand what he was playing at. But Harry seemed to believe him. That was strange. Why would he believe that Bruce Tak had secrets that some woman would use against him, unless if he did have some secrets that Harry knew about. And Alexei Malkovich being there too sitting next to him. Maybe Bruce wasn’t the person she thought he was. He could be hiding in plain sight, and Harry knew. He didn’t even bat and eyelid when he told him about her. Larissa bit her thumb as everything felt suspicious to her. She should definitely look into Harry. He knew more than he let on. There was something about Bruce Tak. And she was going to find out.   If he was involved with Alexei things were not going to end well for him, Larissa thought. Her phone rang. She looked at the screen and she saw that it was Teresa. “Hey,” Larissa said. “Did you look at social media. You are trending. Everyone wants to know who the girl in Bruce Tak’s arms is.” “What?” Larissa asked shocked. She thought that she will make a tiny splash on blog and posts, or be turned into memes as the girl who was trying too hard to get Bruce Tak’s attention but not have people asking themselves who she was. s**t, they haven’t even set up her cover yet. “I am sure it’s nothing,” she said a little nervous of people finding out she was a CIA agent. She should text her boss about that. “I am sure it is,” Teresa said. Larissa could clearly hear the sarcasm in her voice. But she was too tired to entertain it. “Did you manage to convince him? He carried you away, it must mean, right?” she asked. “I am not sure,” Larissa said looking around the room. She was in his house, but that didn’t make her feel any better. She saw a new side to Bruce today that made her feel like she had the wrong idea of him. She underestimated him. He was not a meathead. He was intelligent, and seemed to be able to think on his feet. And Larissa didn’t know how to handle that.  Teresa said more things that she was not listening to. She hated not being sure what was going to happen. The ball seemed to be in Bruce’s hands. He could ask her to do anything right there and there and she would do it, because her job was at stake. And that was a terrible place to be. “Teresa can I call you back tomorrow,” Larissa said. She hung up the phone before Teresa could say anything else. She lay down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. She texted her commander about the risk of the media finding out about her true identity. He responded back immediately. Commander: You went deep cover the minute you stepped into Bruce Tak the first time. No one will find out who you are. Larissa read the text over and over. She didn’t even realize that she was deep cover. Her commander didn’t tell her. Was he hiding anything else from her too? She shook her head. No, he wouldn’t do that. Everything was just happening so fast and in a strange way. She was glad that there was a cover already set in place for her, and she didn’t have to worry about anyone finding out her true identity. Another text came in a few minutes later. Commander: Good job today. A package will be sent to you with everything you will need for the mission. Okay, Larissa said to the empty room. It finally begins.
