29 Forgoing the elevator, Loki stomped down three flights of stairs to the lobby and dropped into a round chair near the large floor-to-ceiling window by the entrance. He’d had to get out of Abby’s room and off her floor before he throttled her for her stubbornness or touched her because it was impossible to keep his hands off her, if only to make sure that she was truly there. She’d let him take her hand but, beyond that, he didn’t know how she felt about being touched, so he had to step away from her. But he couldn’t get himself to quit the building.
