33 Loki held the clubhouse door open for Abby, and she stalked through mumbling about how she wasn’t an invalid and could damn well open the door for herself. Smart man that he was, he refrained from responding. After weeks of his persistent presence, her nerves were shot. He hadn’t made a move on her, which relieved and tormented her simultaneously. Meanwhile, he was in a more tolerant mood than ever. She knew she was acting like a brat, but irritation scuffed her nape like a scratchy mohair scarf. It was her constant companion.
