Ninsianna dragged him down the pathway which descended from the north gate, down the steep embankment which led to the alluvial plain. On the fields beneath them, the warriors had transformed the training field into a competition course that would rival a modern stadium. The nearest end had been set up with targets, while at the far end, date-palm trunks had been stacked to create a ten meter tall wall which started off a race into a nightmarish gauntlet, culminating in a pair of earth-reinforced log tunnels that resembled a pair of fang-laden mouths.
