60. A Recovery Day

: : : Sophie : : : “Is this really necessary?” I huff at the blindfold covering my eyes. Yes, blindfold. It’s nine in the morning, Kieran and I are in a Mustang I assume he rented for the day, and we’ve been driving around for a while. On top of that, I’m blindfolded and my head is throbbing from last night’s fun, but Kieran is still his happy-go-lucky self. He was drinking a lot too last night. I’ve counted, he had, like, eleven drinks. How did all of that not get to him? “Yes, it’s called a surprise,” He replies. His voice sounds light and playful while mine is coarse from the drinking and shouting in the club. The car hums along the road and I sit back in my seat.
