: : : Sophie : : : My heart is thumping nervously as I make my way to the front door of our apartment. I managed to catch my flight, but I didn’t have time to make a phone call to Nick. I can only imagine how worried he must be right now. Taking a deep breath, I put my keys in and push the door back slowly. I was fully anticipating the worst, Nick pacing around in the apartment, calling the cops, or filing a missing person’s report. But when I open the door, I see that the apartment is quiet as usual. Nick’s not in the living room, but I’m hearing some sounds coming from the office.
