Sera’s POV The elevator doors slide open on the 14th floor with that soft, expensive chime that always makes me feel briefly important. I step out with my phone already to my ear, mid-sentence with the nanny about Aria’s lunch preferences. And then I see Nicholas. He’s standing just outside the glass doors of the marketing suite, back to the wall like he’s trying to disappear into it. Black coat.
