Cassian’s POV The door slammed behind her like a gunshot. “Sera!” Her name tore out of me, raw and desperate, as I lunged off the bed. The sheets tangled around my legs for a second too f*****g long and I nearly tripped. My heart was pounding harder than it had when I was buried inside her, coming so hard I saw stars. I grabbed my jeans from the floor, yanking them on without bothering to button them, and bolted barefoot into the hallway. “Sera, wait..goddamn it!” The elevator dinged somewhere down the corridor. Too late. I sprinted anyway, bare feet slapping cold tile, chest heaving.
