For a moment, I feared it might never cease, but slowly, the throbbing began to fade. When I finally opened my eyes, the dim light barely illuminated the room around me. My heart skipped a beat as I took in my surroundings. The walls were bare, blank and uninviting, with no windows to offer any glimpse of the outside world.
