Emily's POV
Alpha Justin arrived with such haste. His hurried footsteps were echoing in the corridor outside the ward as if carrying an undeniable sense of pressure.
He stormed in and left just as quickly. The whole visit lasted no more than five minutes.
The ward was once again only Lily and me.
The soft "click" of the door closing in that silent space was jarring. My heart tightened.
"Emily, what should we do?" Lily's voice trembled slightly.
Her already pale face was now devoid of color. She looked at me helplessly. Her eyes were filled with confusion and fear.
My own thoughts were a chaotic mess. A tangle of thoughts was running wild in my mind.
My gaze inadvertently fell on the card on the table. I noticed the edge of it reflecting a faint cold light under the light.
