I woke up early. Mira was still asleep next to me.
I got up. Got dressed. Tried not to wake her.
But she opened her eyes anyway.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Nash's garage. I need to check on him. Make sure the repairs are going okay."
"You're coming back, right?"
"Yeah. I'll be back in a bit."
She sat up. "Be careful."
"I will."
I kissed her. Left.
Walked to the main room. Found Dane and Priest.
"We're going to Nash's," I said. "Check on the repairs. Make sure he's got what he needs."
"You want us to come?" Dane asked.
"Yeah. Won't take long. Thirty minutes to an hour."
They nodded. Grabbed their jackets.
We got in one of the trucks. Drove out of the compound.
When we arrived at Nash's garage, the broken windows had been boarded up. Spray paint still visible
