Charlbi and Jee are standing in the doorway of the Chapel. Jee wanted to look each Vaseo brother in the eye. Charlbi thought about talking her out of it, but knew this was something her mother had to do. This was Jee’s way of showing Basilio and his brothers her strength. There is no way she'll deprive her mother of that.
Basilio walks ahead of Monti and Don. He walks over to Jee and takes her hand. “Whether you believe it or not, I loved and still love your daughter.”
Jee looks him up and down, “We’ll see about that after the wrath is done.” She glances at Charlbi.
He frowns and leans back, looking at her, then at Charlbi, staring at him. Monti extends his hand to shake Charlbi's hand, but she declines and does the same thing to Don.
