Later that evening, Charlbi is in bed asleep with Tisa on her stomach. She has been crying since she arrived home from the airport. Charlbi thought back to a conversation she and her father had when she was sixteen about taking care of her sister and mother. She knows now that her father was sick then. Charlbi noticed he had changed a little, but not enough to make her think he was ill. She calls Gareth. He knew something was wrong because he could hear in her voice that she had been crying. Gareth asks what’s wrong. She asks him to promise he won’t tell anyone. He promised her. Charlbi tells him about her father’s illness. Gareth told her he'd be on the next flight to New York City. Charbli tells him not to come. There isn’t anything he or she could do about it. He finally agrees with her
