Jee is still processing Charlbi's pregnancy, and she doesn’t want Gareth to know he's going to be a father. She knows that Charlbi is ignoring her calls. She’s making dumplings to occupy her mind. Jee only wants to hear her voice, so she knows that she's okay.
Nuala has been talking to her for about five minutes but Jee doesn’t hear her. She gives up and goes outside where her father is mediating. Nuala sits down, waiting for him to finish.
He feels her presence and opens his eyes. “Your sister is fine. Charlbi is hurt, but she’s fine.”
“Father, what are we going to do?” She looks at him, concerned.
“There isn’t anything we can do besides be there when your sister needs us. Don’t say anything to Gareth about this incident when he returns. I have already spoken with that young man."
