I left Stephen, April and the rest of the pack members to search for everyone else; surely someone was around.
I walked around aimlessly and even went back up to Jace’s room, but there was no sign of anyone.
Where the hell was everyone?
I could feel my stomach churning with worry, but I thought I would give it one last look around the packhouse. If I couldn’t find anyone, I would go back to Jace’s room and wait.
I headed down the corridor and was coming up to Jace’s office. I wonder if he's in there, I thought. But before I could do anything, I saw the door to Jace’s office open. I was about to walk toward it, thinking it was him. But a woman steps out, and then Jace follows her right behind her.
