I sit up from where I tripped over into a sitting position. I’m alone, just the sounds of nature fill my ears.
The tears I was crying have now stopped.
I am still holding the letter in my hand.
I look up through the trees; it is so quiet and airy here.
I can’t make out how far I ran but it looks like no one comes here but I know the guards patrol this part in the evening.
“Asher,” I say through the mind link but he’s not there. He has blocked me.
Not only did I hurt myself, but I hurt my wolf too. I wanted to apologize to Asher for being a fool.
