The hotel suite was designed for power. Everything was marble, glass, and quiet money. The lights from the city poured through the tall windows, bleeding silver across the white sheets of the king-size bed. She stood at the mirror in nothing but a silk robe, tying her hair loosely at the back of her neck. Her four bodyguards were outside the suite door, waiting like good soldiers.
