As I walked into the kitchen, I found my mom busy with dinner. She looked up when she saw me and smiled, but there was something in her eyes that made me pause.
“Avery,” she said softly, setting down the spoon she had been using. “Luna Maria wants to talk to you. She is in the living room with Alpha Elias and their son.”
My stomach dropped. Kaden was still here? Why? I didn’t want to face him again so soon, not after what had happened earlier. My thoughts were still swirling from that unexpected kiss, and now I had to deal with him in front of his parents?
“What does she want?” I asked, trying to keep my voice calm even though I felt like screaming.
