It’s funny how everything seem to change in seconds.
One second I was still trying to hold on to my anger with Kayne while putting him on the spot to explain what he meant and the next second, he is trying to tell me the big secret he was keeping and the third second, my house was collapsing around me and there was a big body above me.
“Kayne.” I struggled frantically under him even as I heard his groans but he refused to let me budge him from using his body to protect me.
“Just be calm.” He begged in a raspy voice. One which I have never heard him used before.
When the blocks stopped falling, he finally moved from on top of me and shifted some of the bricks away so I could suit up.
