I stared at her blankly as she walked in through the door, looking beat. She turned and our eyes met. None of us said anything but I could easily see the hurt and anger in her eyes. Amber said nothing. She averted her gaze and started to walk straight past me. But I needed to talk to her so I grabbed her arm, halting her effectively.
"Amber...I..." I don't know what to say to her honestly. I was at a loss for words. Amber gave me a steely gaze and I don't think I have ever seen her look so coldly at me. At least not in a long time.
