Zoe’s face drained of color as soon as she realized she had been caught. She scrambled to her feet with panic flashing across her features.
“Were you eavesdropping on us?Don’t lie to me!”Alpha Alex thundered.
Zoe’s body shook, and I could see her fists clenched tight, nails digging into her palms. She was definitely furious at me for calling her out.
Still trembling, she took a few quick steps toward the Alpha and sank to her knees. “I swear, Alpha, I wasn’t eavesdropping... I was just passing by and thought I heard my name, so I... I just listened for a moment.”
Alpha Alex’s brow furrowed. “We never mentioned your name, Zoe.” he growled.
