Marsai: I felt a rush of disbelief as my heart hammered in my chest. This couldn’t be real. Who would do something like this? Casting a suspicious glance at Elara, I saw the same fear etched across her face. Even the triplets looked terrified. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a cave just beyond the firelight. Relief washed over me; it could be our safe spot, at least until my wolf guided our next move. “There’s a cave over there!” I said, gesturing towards it. “Let’s get down there, quick.” Everyone nodded, and we moved as one.
