Once the maid left, Jace and I made our way to the pack chambers, where my father, the Alpha, waited.
We knocked once.
“Come in,” he called.
I pushed the door open, stepping in with Jace close behind.
“Oh, my precious children…” My father’s face lit up with a warm smile. “I’ve missed you both so much.”
He opened his arms wide, and without hesitation, we rushed into them.
Over his shoulder, I noticed the pack’s seat of authority right beside him. A woman was seated there, and I couldn't help but wonder who she was and what was going on.
As we pulled away from the hug, my father’s eyes flicked between Jace and me with a curious gaze.
“Where are you two coming from, hmm? Or were you headed somewhere?” He gave a knowing smile. “You both look absolutely stunning.”
