Chapter 15“What were you thinking?” His mother exclaimed, over the phone. “That police officer is probably being hunted and you went to his house? Henley, pour l’amour de Dieu!” “Nobody’s looking for him, Mom. People think he’s dead.” Curse that Johnathan. He should have known not to trust him. Of course Johnny had spilled the beans. “I was safer with Mason than I am here, in the city, walking to the store, all right?” Sitting up in his strange bed, Henley glanced over at the window. It was late in the evening and he could see the Mount Royal lighted cross on the summit. He’d been in this downtown rented apartment for two days and the loneliness wasn’t getting any easier to bear.
