Chapter 20The next morning, when Henley woke, Fortuna sat at his bedside, watching him. The moment he opened his eyes, she began wagging her tail, swiping the floor with it. “Hey, there,” he said, sitting up and looking around Mason’s sunlit room. The curtains were not completely drawn and he could see it was a beautiful crisp winter day. The sky was magnificently blue. “Where are the boys this morning?” Then he remembered last night and the state Mason had been in. It didn’t matter. Mason was human and he obviously was more affected by the job than he led on. He was a sensitive man. A feeler.
