The next day Naledi and Dineo set out early to go see her client. They drove to the east of Pretoria passing expensive looking malls and shopping centers until they plunged into what seemed like the untouched wilderness of the city. Thick trees bordered the road, and wild flowers grew in profusion. Naledi watched the landscape with amazement and concern. They seemed to have left civilization a while ago. She hoped this wasn’t one of those scary moments she’d read about in newspapers where people suddenly went missing because they went to mysterious houses. “Who did the client say she was?” she turned to Dineo, who seemed slightly unnerved. “She just gave me her address and the picture, and asked me to come. I didn’t think of it at the time. But now…” Dineo stared out the window her eyes
