ALMOND
“Mama… mama,” the happy scream of Krystal prompted up from the bed and I hurried got up to get dressed before she could enter the room, Alvah was sleeping beside me on the bed, grumping getting up from the bed and his eyes widened in shock when he heard Krystal’s voice.
“Get dressed, my princess is coming,” I whispered to him and he nodded while urging me to go towards the door to welcome her. I hurriedly stood up and walked towards the door to see a happy Krystl running into my open arms.
“Mama, I missed you… I thought you were dead. You gave me a scare. You left me all alone for days, this wasn’t the promise you made to me,” she queried and I sighed, watching the tears slip slowly from her eyes. I couldn’t help but wonder how she had been coping with the days when I lay still
